Clearing your Cache on an Android Device
To help speed up your loading times in Ctrl Hub it is recommended that you clear your cache on your devices regularly to help ensure you are using the most up to date data from the platform. The below steps are for both an Android phone and tablet.
In the Chrome app
- If you are using Chrome as your main web browser, open up the Chrome app.
- At the top right, tap more (the three dots).
- Now select History.
- The History tab will now open, tap on ‘Clear browsing data…’Now select ‘Cached images and files’ and click on Clear Data. This will now clear your cache.
*Note* You can also clear your browsing history and Cookies and Site data from this page.
From Any Other Browser
- If you use a different browser, the following example will show you how to clear the cache.
- For this example we will use the Samsung web browser.
- Go to the settings on your device, this can be in the menu or by sliding down the top screen menu.
- From the settings menu, scroll down and click on Apps.
- Now open up Samsung Internet.
- Go to the Usage menu and select Storage.
- Now click on Clear Cache, you can also Clear data from this option also if you require to
Clearing your Cache on an Apple Device
The below steps are for both the iPhone and iPad.
- From the home screen on your device open up the Settings app.
- Scroll through the setting until you find Safari and click to open.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Clear History and Website Data.
- A message will appear to double-check that you want to clear the data, click on Clear History and Data to continue.
*Note* You can also clear the cache and preserve history and cookies in Settings by clicking Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.
When there's no history or website data to clear, the setting turns grey. The setting might also be grey if you have web content restrictions set up under Content & Privacy Restrictions in Screen Time.
Clearing your Cache on a Windows Device
Clearing the cache on a computer varies depending on which web browser you are using, below are examples of Chrome and Microsoft Edge, but they all follow a similar process.
Chrome
On your keyboard press the keys [Ctrl], [Shift] and [Del], a new window will appear.
You can choose the time range that you want to clear; last hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 4 weeks or all time.
You can now select what you would like to clear, this gives you the option to clear cookies and browsing history also, once you have selected your options click Clear Data. Be aware that the removal of data can affect your auto filled websites.
Microsoft Edge
On your keyboard press the keys [Ctrl], [Shift] and [Del], a new window will appear.
