Tagging
Tags enable you to group, otherwise, unrelated system entities to make them easily identifiable and searchable. For example, if several employees belong to the same department, and you want to keep track of that, you could tag them all with the name of the department. Searching for the department name, in the system search area located at the top of all user accounts, would return all of those tagged employees in the results.
The following example makes use of Employee tags but is applicable to all taggable entities.
Tagging With an Existing Tag
Hey! Ed Ward works in the Ctrl Hub IT department. Let’s tag him with the ‘Ctrl Hub IT’ tag!
To assign an existing tag, click the Update button in the Tags section.
*Note* There are currently no tags assigned:
Click on the desired existing tag from the list:
Your selected tags will be listed in pill form. Click Save to assign the chosen tags:
You will now see a success message and the assigned tags in the Tags section:
Tagging With a New Tag
Looks like Ed is part of Testing Team now. Let’s tag him with that too...
To create and assign a new tag, type the name of the tag then click the respective list item:
Then follow the same procedure as above to save and apply the new tag
